Miami Valley
Peace Maker Award

The Miami Valley Peace Maker Award:
Honoring Unrecognized Individuals Who Have Made Significant Contributions to Promoting Peace and Nonviolence Within Their Communities

The submission deadline is March 22, 2026.

Note from our executive Director

Dear Friends,

As we enter our second year of this meaningful tradition, the Dayton International Peace Museum is honored once again to celebrate those whose quiet, steady contributions help strengthen the fabric of our community. As part of The Season for Nonviolence, we are proud to present the 2nd Annual Miami Valley Peace Maker Award—an opportunity to recognize individuals whose actions reflect the values of peace, empathy, and service in the Miami Valley.

We invite you to join us again in nominating someone you know who has had a positive impact on the Dayton area—someone who makes a difference without seeking attention, who consistently shows up, lends a hand, and makes our community better simply by being part of it. These are the everyday peace builders whose efforts often go unnoticed yet whose influence is deeply felt.

Nominations open January 30th and close March 22nd.

The recipient of this year’s award will be announced at our Season for Nonviolence closing event on April 4th.

Help us shine a light on the individuals who embody the spirit of peace and nonviolence in our region. Your nomination could inspire our community and uplift the quiet heroes among us.

In peace and gratitude,
